How to Care for Your Jewelry

When we spend money on a good piece of jewelry, we want it to last a long time. It's good to make sure that your favorite piece looks fresh and new. Here are a few tips that’ll leave you with long-lasting pieces.

The Hawaiian Jewel has many different types of precious gemstones and metals that we turn into jewelry. Upkeep for any type of jewelry is pretty straightforward. A simple wipe-down after a day out will freshen it up.

The golden rule to remember is “Last on - First off”. The piece should be the last thing that you put on, and the first thing that you take off. This minimizes the amount of moisturizers, hair creme, etc. that might smudge it up.

If your jewelry is really dirty, get a damp, non-abrasive cloth and wipe it down. If doing this doesn't leave it looking fresh and new, return it to us. We’ll professionally clean it, and send it back free of charge.

Storing jewelry is important if you want it to last a long time. All jewelry is a little bit different but the general rule is that if it's a good piece of jewelry, store it somewhere dark with low humidity. It’s in your best interest to find a nice jewelry box lined with natural materials. Cotton, silk, and wool are all great choices to keep your gems and jewels safe.
